PC to AMIGA:

Use Lharc on the PC (and LHA on the AMIGA) to decompress
PCtoAM308.lha

i.e. lha x PCtoAMI308.lha

x = extract.

On the PC, double-click on the file "PC2amcfg.exe", and
answer the questions.

I know for a fact that: Parallel, Laplink 4 wire, and the rest
as defaults -- works fine.

On the AMIGA, run the install program. Give it the same settings
as what you used for the PC.

Then, to start the conection...

On the PC:

Double-click on "PC2amiga.exe"

On the AMIGA:

Go to the HD0:Storage/dosdrivers directory, and double-click on
the file called "PC0"

You should see a new icon on the Workbench desktop, called
"PCDisk". Double-click on it, and choose:
Window --> Show --> All Files.

You'll see all of the PC's devices... A: through ?:

You can now double-click on the C, to access the PC's C: drive.

Simply drag Amiga files to any of the PC directories in the
PCDisk window (or in the drive letter / subdirectories).

Note: the Amiga side of the software can be exited, and opened
again and again, while the PC side stays running. The software
will automatically re-establish a connection as soon as the
Amiga side is loaded up again.

Tip: In order to preserve long Amiga filenames for large batches
of files, try LHA compressing directories or full disks into
LHA files. Then transfer the LHA file across.

e.g.)
To compress all of the files and subdirectories in the current directory
on the Amiga into a file called "Libs-bak.lha", placing it on the
drive HD0:, type:

lha -2 -r a HD0:Libs-bak.lha #?

On the PC side, decompress the files using a version of LHA that
is designed for Windows 9x or newer (so that it preserves long
file names).

To decompress a file called Gravitar.lha, you'd type the following
at a DOS prompt:

lha x gravitar.lha

I've included a Win32 version of LHA which can be placed in the
Windows\Command directory on a Windows 9x machine, for this purpose.

Note: On Windows 2000 and XP, PC2Amiga only works in serial mode.
For parallel mode, you must use Windows 9x.
